In Unity Group

Navigating a multicultural environment can be challenging when the path is unfamiliar or when you have yet to experience cultural education or developed the skills to be successful.     

Mauritha Hughes MSEd., BSN, is the Founder and CEO of In Unity Group, LLC. She has launched small businesses, managed corporate and academic diversity learning and development programs, and is recognized as an exceptional consultant, executive coach and speaker.   For more than 20 years, she has been a leader in strategic planning, program development, and facilitating workshops for health professionals, and corporate leaders on topics of cultural competence, workforce diversity, health equity, race, ethnicity, and language data collection. Mauritha is a part of a consortium of business founders, executive coaches, and leadership consultants.   She leads community programs and roundtable discussions designed to educate and empower individuals and groups to transform behavior.  Her passion for intercultural collaboration, inclusive leadership, and equity has led to positive impact, and organizational transformation. 

Mauritha has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Colorado, and a master’s degree in medical education from the University of Southern California.  She has earned an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential, and is a Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).

In 2014, Mauritha launched our first Race Roundtable, after she and many others experienced the exhibit, " Race: Are We So Different?", which was on display at the History Colorado Center.  The exhibit ignited the desire to have an ongoing, candid conversation about race with individuals representing diverse racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.  Our roundtable activities have resulted in diverse relationships that foster self awareness, personal development, and unity.
